Welcome to Love to Lingo
Hello and welcome to Love to Lingo.
I’m Christina. I’m a language teacher (nearly two decades 🙈) and a language learner myself (C1/C2 Spanish, B1/B2 French, and A1 Italian ☺️).
I started this newsletter for people who are genuinely curious about language learning and want to build a practice that works for them.
Let me take you on a tour.
The Newsletter (free)
Each week I publish a post with actionable insights, practical guides, and inspiration for independent learners.
You might find out how to become a good language learner, try the magic step in language learning, or finally get your notebook organized.
You can also gather inspiration from learners who have gone before you by reading the How I Learn Languages or experiment with designing your own curriculum or trying out Slow Language Learning.
My goal is to give you some grounding in theory so you can explore different strategies to find what works for you.
The Foreign Language Department (paid)
If you’re looking for a learning environment with connection and support, consider joining the Foreign Language Department.
There are guided programs, like The Language Practice and Routine Refresh that take you step by step through designing a self-study practice that works for you.
The Language Practice
The Language Practice
A four-week guide for intermediate learners who want to build a language learning routine that's completely their own.
And there are growing opportunities to engage with your target language and connect with other learners:
Lit Club — a guided slow-read and discussion of a classic book in your target language
Cinema Club — a guided film screening with a live discussion after (coming June 2026)
Lectures — art history, cooking, architecture, psychology, all through your target language (coming June 2026)
Workshops — writing, speaking, and drama workshops to help you enjoy using your language (coming summer 2026)
Connect — guided language exchanges with other learners (coming autumn 2026)
Individual events are available without membership, but joining the Foreign Language Department gets you full access.
Joining is more affordable right now. Annual subscriptions are 50% off until 1 June.
Not sure where to start? The newsletter is free and a new post arrives every week. Subscribe and see if it’s for you.
Thanks for reading and Happy Language Learning!
♡ Christina
